Teknisk Ukeblad (tu.no), Norway's leading technical and engineering magazine, featured another article discussing the fuel savings achieved by Eidesvik's Viking Energy, thanks to the battery provided by ZEM.
The article, found here, discusses Eidesvik's innovations in hybridizing ships, and the positive experience they have had with the Viking Energy. Vermund Hjelland, Eidesvik's director of technology is quoted as saying that the Viking Energy "can save around 32 percent fuel in DP operations, 20 percent in the harbour and 20 percent in stand by."
