Norsafe and Statoil take Electric Lifeboat for a Ride

Teknisk Ukeblad (tu.no), Norway's leading technical and engineering magazine, featured an article about Norsafe's electric lifeboat, which is powered by ZEM's Akazem line of batteries, and drive line.

Statoil, the leading Norwegian energy company, which initiated the project, said it expected 95% savings on maintenance costs compared to traditional diesel powered solutions.

Following successful trials at sea, Norsafe noted that the electric life boat's higher speed also implies greater safety, as passengers can be evacuated more quickly.

And with the integrated remote monitoring, this lifeboat is viewed as part of the digital revolution.
